    Well the FMU when we are in boost is is at a constant pressure wink Hence the name constant pressure blower smile So the FMU really goes to X psi times the rise rate and stays there.
    Yes as we get to the top of the RPM range it goes up a little bit more but for the most part the fuel pressure is constant. Yes the V-AFC has all the tunability of the S-AFC and a V-TEC controller built in to boot cool

    I'm thinking about making a custom one, with a vtec light, so I can look at when the light comes on on the tach. The parts, (and I forget exactly) shouldn't be more than 10-20 dollars. Now that's a bargin.

    Good points Jim on VTEC. It has been a few days now and everything looks good. My VTEC will be staying that low.

    Thanks for the info Will i tried phoning Apexi on Friday but their phone system kept hanging up on me. Looks like i will be buying one now.

    One thing that I have noticed in a few different posts is changing the VTEC engagement point to really low rpm levels... keep in mind that for VTEC to actually engage, TWO conditions must be met: First, sufficient oil pressure must be present in the rocker-arm oil rail to close the pressure switch; Second, a pre-determined rpm must be reached to engage the VTEC solenoid.
    With this in mind, it is very possible (especially if you use lighter/thinner oils) that when you engage the VTEC solenoid, there is insufficient oil pressure to make the change, and the true VTEC engagement happens slightly higher in the rpm range.

    So Jeff, if you plan on making a VTEC light, you MUST use the pressure switch and the solenoid to power your LED...

    redline: Do you still have your VTEC crossover point so low? Do you still advocate this approach?

    i have a similar setup, but couldn't tolerate being in vtec while cruising on the freeway. i set it to 3900/4000rpm, which lets me cruise in 5th gear at 78-82mph and not be on the big lobes.

    as an aside, i have noticed that at low vtec crossovers the engine makes a noticeable "clank" sound as it switches back. i didn't ever notice this before, say, when dropping from 5300rpm to 5000rpm, but perhaps that's because of greater engine noise at that speed anyway. anyone else notice this?

    note : this is on a jrsc prelude (h22a). not an integra.

    Hey, I've had my vtec crossover at 3K with the VPAC. Just last sunday I gave it some gas with the windows down and noticed this "clank" just as VTEC engaged. I've been freaking out ever since I heard it... so I'm actually releived to hear that I'm not the only one. Anyone have any idea what this might be?

    What type of oil are you running Schwett? I'm running 5-w30, just curious if this might have something to do with it.
